Where can I find a guide to minnesota "visitor" gun carrying restrictions?

Taking BF up to Minnesota from Iowa and BF would like to carry his gun with him (not rifle). Have looked up the above terminology but get a lot of amendments and such and it is a bit confusing for me. Is there something a little more in layman's terms that just says whether or not he can carry a firearm, if it has to be encased or anything pertinent to having an out of state license while traveling in Minnesota?
