Why do so many on here get irrationally angry about BC and AD?

Every time I mention a BC year (for example the year 10,000 BC in a question), a bunch of people will get into rage mode and call me an ignorant person for not using BCE and CE and that I should get "an education" and use the "scientific" terminology. How is Common Era more scientific than AD/BC?
