Honestly IE9 still has a lot of issues that need to be worked out. So to fix this, you need to boot into safe mode and revert the update from IE8 to IE9. Wait for a bit for IE9 to work out all of their bugs, and then upgrade from 8 to 9. But if you REALLY want 9 right this instant then you will have the buggy browser.
